Crooksbury

Crooksbury was built in 1938 as a holiday house and has been used for this purpose ever since, passing through three generations of the Chase family. It sleeps 10 people in four bedrooms, and there is also a second sitting room with sofa bed. The house is furnished and equipped for holidays, retaining its original style and charm, whilst benefitting from modern heating, plumbing and electrics.
The house is situated on the highest ridge in Polzeath, overlooking the beach, headland and Atlantic Ocean. It has a large flat south facing garden, a veranda and a first floor balcony which enjoys southerly inland views for many miles.
Inside, the house has four main bedrooms, arranged as follows
- Upstairs Double room with en-suite shower room and views out to sea
- Downstairs Double room with additional cot. Hand basin in room.
- Downstairs Twin room. Twin beds can be put together to make a double bed
- Downstairs Bunk room with additional twin beds which can be put together to make a double, or one bed can be stored under the other.
The main sitting room is downstairs with a log burning stove, two sofas and armchairs. Upstairs there is an additional sitting room/playroom with views out to sea; this room has a small double futon sofa bed, chair bed and additional camp beds which are stored in the attic. The upstairs sitting room/playroom has a Jack and Jill en-suite shower room with the upstairs double bedroom.
The house benefits from a large kitchen, two living rooms, a large veranda, upstairs balcony, three bath or shower rooms, outdoor shower, garage storage and a utility room. There is WiFi, a DVD and screen (but no TV service/licence). The driveway can accommodate four mid-size cars parked end to end. The garage is used to store wood fuel, beach equipment and lawn games, which you are welcome to use.
